Frustrated about low opening and click rates while your unsubscribes skyrocket?

"Discover My Secret to Unlocking Your Storytelling Skills to Get Higher Subscriber Engagement and More Sales - Even with a Tiny List"

To: Ambitious marketers who struggle to get opens and reactions to their emails.

Can You Say "Yes" to Any of These Questions?

Do you want to grow a relationship with your list, but you are struggling because your subscribers don't even open your emails?

Are you sick and tired of twisting your brain to come up with interesting angles that will make you at least a single sale?

Does it feel easier just to quit, even though you really wanted to become an email marketer?

If so, I understand...

BrittMalka200x200

Hi, I'm Britt Malka, and before I discovered this secret, I was struggling to get even a 10% open rate.

Just like you, I spent hours coming up with ideas for and writing emails nobody read.

Just like you, I felt like quitting.

In fact... I did quit. Deleted my email list, swearing that I would never ever build one again.

No More Email Marketing Again EVER!

I had deleted my list about how to make money online.

It had done well when my list was Danish, but I had wanted to move on.

In Denmark, I was famous for my writing and for making money online. I'd even been in the Danish Radio and television, interviewed by journalists.

Nobody knew me on the English or American marked. It had been arrogant of me to think that I could just enter it like a queen.

I rage-deleted my blog and let go of my domain.

NEVER EVER again!

...

Two days later, I got an email from my friend, Lee. She'd been one of my subscribers, and we knew each other from "real life."

"What happened? I haven't received any emails from you this week."

"No, I deleted the list."

"Why?"

"Less than 1/10 even opened my emails."

I got the reply from Lee three minutes later.

"What about those of us who don't know how to make money online?"

What about us?

Lee Convinced Me. I Changed My Mind, and Here's Why I Believe You Should Do the Same

Don't give up.

Don't quit.

It may not seem obvious to you, but somebody out there may need you.

I felt that nobody cared about my emails.

It turned out that I was wrong.

One person (at least) did.

Lee noticed. And she asked for my help.

I couldn't ignore her plea. I had a message to share, so I owed it to the world to get over my ego and share that message.

But I Wanted to Change the Way I Wrote Emails

When I started that list, I did what many still do today:

I gave a lot of value.

I tried to teach my subscribers everything I knew about marketing and making money online through short emails.

They. Did. Not. Care.

There's a good reason why...

They didn't know me!

I must have given away an awesome freebie to get them there, but from that moment, they just shrugged and deleted my emails unopened.

Lee knew me. She knew my story and that I'd been making a living online since 2000. She trusted that I could teach her something of value.

All the others?

Nope!

Why should they?

Back then, I didn't realize all this.

But I just thought, "If I'm going to do this, then I'll have fun while doing it."

I'd had enough of wading through the ways I made money online, trying to share my knowledge in short emails.

An impossible task.

A lot of work, too, and unsatisfying, since only a handful of people read what I wrote.

This time, yes, for sure, I wanted to help beginners, but I wanted to do it my way.

And which is the best way to teach anything to anybody?

Let me show you the answer with the following example.

My Mother Bought Me a Book that Still Causes Me Nightmares

I blew out the four candles on my birthday cake and inhaled the scents of vanilla, icing, and strawberry jam. My teeth watered while my mother cut a small piece and handed it to me on a plate.

Mmm.... This was yummy.

We lived in Germany, my mother, father, and me. My grandmother and uncle stayed in Denmark. So it was just the three of us.

I had peaked into the kitchen earlier that day and seen my mother add milk to a bag of cake cream mix and my stomach had growled.

Now, I finally got around to sink my teeth into the cake and wash it down with hot cocoa. Wonderful.

Next to me on the table lay a flat package. It was letter-sized and the same height as my finger. Whatever hid inside was wrapped in shiny, red paper. My mother's favorite color.

"Finish your cake and open up your gift," my mother said and lit a cigarette.

Four minutes later, I ripped off the paper and discovered a book with a strange drawing of a thin man with incredibly long fingernails and hair on the cover.

"Thank you, Mom," I said and opened the book.

Der StruwwelPeter 1960

"Funny" Stories and "Amusing" Images

That's what it says on the cover.

My mother read those "funny" stories for me and showed me the "amusing" images.

They consisted of a story about Soup-Kasper who didn't want to eat his soup and ended up starving to death. About Hans who always looked up into the air instead of ahead of him and therefore fell into the water. A boy who sucked his thumb until a man jumped in and cut them off with huge scissors. And a story about a girl who were home alone and played with matches. Her dress caught fire, and she and her house burned up.

I hated those stories!

Why would anyone write this way? Why would any mother give their only child such a book?

Well...

Apparently, those stories were meant to teach an important lesson to kids between the age 3 and 6.

"Eat your food."

"Look where you walk."

"Don't suck your thumbs."

"Don't play with matches."

All healthy advice wrapped in acid coating.

It IS a Fact, Though

We learn from stories.

And that's one of the reasons why I decided to add stories into my emails.

A decision that changed my life.

What Happened to My Opening Rates?

Before I show you a picture I just snapped of my present open rate, let me tell you this:

I had no illusions!

I started a new list to help my friend, Lee.

The changes I made, adding stories, was simply because I thought that I could just as well have fun while writing emails.

I'd already tried giving away teaching inside emails, and it didn't work.

Why should stories work? I didn't think they would. I just wrote them because I liked doing it.

And at first, nothing happened.

Then a few more started to open. Then more.

And the subscribers I had either stayed for a long time. Some even became friends. Or they unsubscribed fast.

Take a look at this screenshot. All opening rates are above 40%. Some as high as 42.92% (not counting my loyal fans at 68.65%).

But even better...

The click rates are high.

This proves that stories not only make people open emails but also act on the content.

42pctopeningfullimage

By the way...

Notice, that I don't have a huge list.

However, because of my huge open rate my list performs as if it was 10x its size.

But like everyone else, I have emails that don't get as many opens.

Like this one:

And this one:

When it happens, that's when I analyze what went wrong to see what I can do to improve it.

Still, thanks to higher opening rates for some emails (with equally high click rates) I keep my average opening rate high.

So now that I'm successful at getting at least an average of 40% opening rate of my emails.

And now that I almost daily receive replies from subscribers...

I'm burning to share what it took to get my opening rate up from less than ten to 42%.

I discovered this by chance...

Simply, because I didn't want to do things the way I'd done before.

The way that clearly didn't work.

You can ENGAGE your list by telling a lot of stories. Stories, that go from a few sentences to a few hundred words.

I've been wanting to share this for a while...

In fact, I actually tried to write it in an eBook.

And it just doesn't work.

Because it's 20+ years of experience of telling stories, and they just won't smush into one eBook.

The truth of the matter is, if you're going to learn to write stories, it's going to take...

  • multiple lessons
  • multiple iterations
  • failures
  • mistakes
  • corrections
  • and multiple improvements

And so, what I've decided to do is create a step-by-step lesson-driven membership where you get hands-on experience with writing persuasive story-based emails the right way, the way that worked for me.

Is It Possible to Learn How to Tell Stories?

For some people, it may be easier to tell a story than for others. At least, at the beginning...

But that doesn't mean that they'll be better storytellers in the long run.

Everyone can learn this. And you don't even need to put in 10,000 hours of training or hand-copying every good story you've ever read.

Instead, I'll show you step by step how to:

  1. Find stories to write about even if you think you live a dull life.
  2. Start your stories at the right place.
  3. Add cliffhangers to your stories to make your subscribers devour your stories faster than they can eat a bowl of popcorn.
  4. Make your stories ripe with tension to keep your readers reading and make them want more.
  5. Choose when to write a story and when to just write directly from your heart to obtain the most

Now the way this is going to work is that you will get content with action steps.

What Is This? 4786 Hours of Video Training?

I can imagine that you've probably seen training like that for difficult topics like this, but you get so stuck in the video training that you never see results.

And for that reason, I decided not to have 4786 hours of video training.

Instead, I decided to use exactly what's necessary, whether it's video or written content, to get you the best results the fastest.

Most of the content will be written. Whenever it's needed, I'll add over-the-shoulder videos. But most will be text content, which means you can easily refer back to it when you need to.

Once a month, we'll do a live Q&A where you can ask me anything you want about the present month's content.

Now, here’s what you’ll really dig deep on when you work with me:

  1. Storytelling structure, not meant to become a champion novelist, but aimed at making you among the best email marketers. (Not many email marketers master this technique, and those who do rarely share how they do it.)
  2. Two ways to pull your readers into the stories and not letting them go until you're ready to let them go. And that will be to let them perform an action of your choice.
  3. Five things you must add to most of your emails to gain your readers' attention and get them in your spell.
  4. Story starters... Your first few words are crucial. They will either make your reader keep reading or move on to something else.
  5. When to make words stand out and when not to. This will either help skimmers or make your readers rush through your message without getting moved to act. You'll definitely not want the latter.
  6. The one thing you should never do. Not in stories. Not in clear writing. If you do, it will kill your sales and alienate your readers. Even if they'll never admit so themselves.
  7. Details... what to include and what to delete. Choosing the wrong details will destroy your story and not connect emotionally with your readers.

And That's Not All

We’ll also work step by step through these topics:

  1. Where to find more examples to learn from.
  2. How to recognize a good or brilliant story from a mediocre one—whether it's your own or somebody else's.
  3. Serials—when you don't tell the ending in one email, but continue to the next. Done wrong, this will alienate your readers.
  4. How to implement all five senses in your emails and whether or not you should do so in every story.
  5. What to do if you don't want to be too personal in your emails.

Now, I know that’s a lot, but don't worry. We'll take it step by step. And you're free to follow your own pace.

By design, you'll receive each lesson in the order that will get you the best results the fastest. Each lesson has a homework assignment associated with it, which you should complete before moving to the next lesson.

Each lesson contains complete instructions for the next step in the process plus homework to solidify your new storytelling skills.

The bottom line is I am going to show you a road map that is easy to follow.

Do you remember when you learned how to read and write?

One of my earliest childhood memories consists of me, using my blackboard to learn those skills.

It had the alphabet printed in capital letters around the corners. And I copied a letter at a time, first to the blackboard and then to a piece of paper.

Then I ran into the living room and asked my mom, who was lying on the couch there, what the letter said.

Step by step, I learned the sounds of each letter, and then the combination of two, then three.

It took me a day to read my first book myself, but soon after, that same book only took me an hour to go through.

That's how we learn and get better.

Taking it one tiny step at a time, adding to that step little by little, and with repetition get both faster and better.

What's "Storytelling for the Win" Worth?

Perhaps as you are reading this, you are realizing that with the right help you CAN learn to tell stories that entertain and catch your readers.

But do you know how valuable this skill is?

Just to give you a couple of examples:

Ray-Ban was struggling. Their sales were down to 12,000 to 18,000 pairs per year... world wide!

That all changed thanks to two movies with Tom Cruise, where he, the hero, wore Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Now everybody wanted them, and sales skyrocketed.

No ads. No direct selling. Just one guy wearing the sunglasses.

The story did all the selling.

But let me give you another example... One of my own

I picked a random email of mine...

It was a story I had from the news about a man who was sentenced to watch Bambi once a month. Here's what I wrote:

"Bambi, quick! The thicket!"

Bambi looked up from the juicy patch of fresh spring grass he was nipping at.

He'd never tasted anything so delicious before in his short life.

His eyes met his mother's. Her nostrils flared and there was fear in her breath.

Bambi didn't wait for another warning. He sprinted as fast as he could in the direction of the thicket. Cold, virgin snow hit his flanks when he kicked it up with his hooves and sent shivers down his spine.

A booming sound tore the air apart and echoed through the woods behind him.

He turned his head. What was that sound? And was his mother still right there? His lungs burned from heaving in ice-cold air.

Phew, she was there, two steps behind him.

"Faster, Bambi. Don't look back. Faster!"

Another shot pierced the air as Bambi reached the cave.

Finally safe.

...

If you've ever watched Walt Disney's Bambi you know what fate hit his mother. It's hard to keep your eyes dry when watching this scene...

And that's why a judge in Missouri sentenced a hard-boiled poacher to watch Bambi every month for the year he had to spend in prison.

While this is an unusual sentence, in our own lives we also sentence ourselves to unusual punishments.

Sometimes, they are the only options you have...

I experienced that a while ago.

I had made a template for monthly calendars. You know... the ones with the name of the month and the year at the top, then a row with the names of the seven days of the week, and then the dates below.

Each date had to line up beneath the name of the day.

And, in case you've forgotten, there are 365 days in 2022... so I had to type in 365 dates.

That's not exactly how it happened.

It went like this:

I found that January started on a Saturday, so I typed "1" under "Saturday" in January.

I continued in the second row, typed 2, 3, 4... etc.

When I reached 14, I was royally bored.

"I'll do this tomorrow."

So I saved the file.

Obviously, I didn't return the following day.

It took me weeks to get back to typing in those dates, and I was close to screaming when I reached June and still had to continue.

Personally, I hope the poacher felt the same way while crying for the 6th time over that scene where Bambi's mother gets shot.

But as for creating printables... it's counter productive to do tedious work.

I wanted to automate this—but didn't see how it could be done.

I searched for solutions both on Google and YouTube.

Nothing.

I kept trying different ways... and failed.

Until one day... I found a way to make it click-and-drag easy.

I sent that email to a fraction of my list (436) and made $89.73 instantly.

Just from that one email.

Now, I know that $89.73 is not going to change your world.

But send out such an email every day, and it makes a significant difference.

How much, do you ask?

Let's do the math.

$89.73 multiplied with 30 for a month equals $2,691.90.

I don't know about you, but I would take that amount of money anytime.

Now... my list was tiny. So let's find out how much this means for each individual person on my list.

I'll take the $2,691.90 and divide it by 436.

This gives me an average income of $6.17 per subscriber.

Now, contrast that with the estimated average monthly revenue per subscriber on eCommerce lists of $1...

The difference of $5.17 per subscriber is due to the power of story!

It's SIX TIMES more powerful to tell a story than not.

What Would That Mean for You?

How would your life be different if your emails could do bring in more money for you... even without feeling like a sleazy salesman?

Imagine how it would feel if in marketing your course or program you were able to write the ideal perfect stories for each module of your program, for each level of your marketing...

Stories that would so touch people's heart that they would actively desire to have your program.

Perhaps even at any price.

What would that mean for you and your business, possibly even for your family, if you were able to actively use maybe a story a day to get more clients and for your marketing to get better?

How would that feel for you?

If you are like most of my customers, my guess is that it would be amazing – truly, genuinely life changing!

Now, here’s the thing, I personally charge $400 per month for my email coaching. In this training, you'll get all that I know about using storytelling in emails or sales letters...

And you can follow the course at your desired pace.

My guess is that if you sharpened your storytelling skills within the next few months, it would be worth even more than $400 a month...

Frankly, it would be worth more than $4,000!

However, I want to make this a no-brainer.

Instead of paying $400 a month with the risk of getting behind and have to pay for more months...

And frankly speaking, only getting a small amount of information during our personal time.

Instead, you will get all the step-by-step lessons plus incredible access to me in live monthly calls, so you can become an expert email storyteller.

Then this program is everything you need. And you can study the lessons at your own pace.

And instead of $400 a month it's just $97 a month for as long as you're growing and learning.

When your storytelling is where you want it, you can cancel any time yourself or ask me to do it.
